Thankful Thursday (actually Friday)

I am so thankful that i have such a playful daughter! She is rarely fussy, and when she is, she is easily calmed down. Karly's Schedule is become easier and easier to manage.
In the morning, we wake up to her talking. She is a babbler, and loves to make the farting noises. its hilarious.
Tummy time is usually the most exciting time in our house. Everyone gets on the floor to roll around. Even the dogs get in on the action. Karly loves the dogs. She rides on Lyla's back (i hold her there of course) and loves to get kisses from the girls (although we try to discourage it, it still happens.. and she always gets cleaned up right afterward). BJ and Karly usually have the most fun during tummy time, because he is just getting home from work and she loves to tell him all about her day.
I am also thankful (suprisingly) for Furlough Days. It has made my life so much easier. I get a break in the week to actually slow down and play all day with Miss Karly.
Until next time,
Love and Kisses,
Blair

Update!

Well. This week has been an interesting one! BJ had his Cert program last Wednesday, and then left for Vegas for three days on Thursday night. From what he has told me, he seems to have had a pretty good time! I spent most of the weekend out at my parents, which was very fun (caught up on my TV time there!). Sunday, Karly and I went to PBR (professional bull riding) with my Grandma Donna, Aunt Linda, and Mom. I didnt realize when we were on our way, but it was way too loud for Karly. The moment the announcer came on the loud speaker, she started screaming. I felt so terrible, so I rushed her out to the hallway, where I called BJ to come and pick us up. Unfortunately, I had left her carseat in my Mom's car, so she needed to take me out to get it. When we asked Guest Services if she could have another ticket to get in, they asked us if we would like to see if a suite would be better for her so that we would be able to stay. Well, my Mom jumped at the opportunity, and we were escorted to a suite that was literally right above the stage. It was perfect! Not only could we see the riders perfectly, but we got to see all the behind the scenes stuff also. There was one bull who did a head dive in the arena, and when it was put into the pin in the back, it was charging at all of the people who were trying to take care of it! What a tough job that would be! We couldn't believe how nice the people at Arco were, and how accommodating. Anyway, today Karly SAT UP on her own. She was sitting on BJ's lap, and lifted herself up on her own. What a big girl! Here are some pictures of the girl today, and one of Karly and her Dad making cute faces at eachother. Until next time!

XOXO, Blair

Lazy Sunday

There is nothing better than a lazy weekend after a crazy holiday season. Both BJ and I got really sick this past week, so we took it easy this weekend... something we havent really done since before Christmas (actually, more like Thanksgiving!).

Friday night we went to BJ's friend Patrick's wedding reception. BJ got to see lots of people he hasnt seen in a really long time. It was really nice meeting Patrick's wife, Cat, and the rest of his family as well.

Saturday we went to the Folsom Outlets and got BJ a new pair of shoes, and picked up a new pair of running shoes for me. Its about time! I think the last time i bought running shoes was in high school (EEK!). That brings me that much closer to my marathon. Hooray! After we finished up our shopping, we went down to Elk Grove and BJ and Karly visited with BJ's parents while i went and got my hair highlighted. Yay! My hair is back to normal! Afterwards we stopped by our friends Nick and Krystle's House. They have converted a shop/barn into their new house and it is adorable! What's really awesome is that they pretty much did all the work themselves, and they did a beautiful job. It will be very exciting to see when they're completely finished!

Today is our Lazy Sunday. We went to Subway for lunch (yum!), and then went grocery shopping for the week. We have pretty much cleaned up the whole house, and almost all of our laundry is done (phew!). It's been a long time since we spent a full day at home, and i have to say, it feel pretty good! Here are some cute pictures of Karly and her dad that we took this morning.

goodbye 08, hello 2009!

Well, 2008 (a.k.a. "the year of Blair and BJ") is over. So many wonderful things happened this year. We were married on May 24, moved into our new house in mid-august (which we are still decorating), and had our beautiful baby girl (Karly Morgan Reese) on September 27. Although it was a fun and exciting year, i am extremely happy that it is finally over.
Karly is now 3 months old, and getting to be a big girl! Every now and then she wakes up hungry at 2am, but for the most part she sleeps through the night. Her days consist of eating, sleeping, pooping, and telling me all about it in between. Yes, thats right, we have a talker (shocking, i know). She comes to work with me every day, and although i love being able to see her all day, i feel split between her and work. Im not giving either one enough attention, so i am going to have to figure something out.
BJ is doing well at work. His company christmas party was loads of fun, and he has made a ton of new friends. For New Years Eve, we went to his friend Scott's house and battled he and his wife in bowling, tennis, and golf on the Wii. He is talking about getting into CERT, which is a volunteer rescue organization that his dad has been working with as well. If he is successful in getting into the program, he will be attending classes for the next several weeks. Let cross our fingers for him! Also, depending on whether or not he enjoys it (like he did in the past) he is talking about talking all of his EMT courses to get back into firefighting! Yay BJ!
As for me, I feel like a day at home is a blessing. Last Saturday, my sister babysat Karly for the night. Instead of having a rip-roaring good time, BJ and I went out to dinner, picked up some movies at Dimple, and went to bed early. For the new year, I am working on my diet (rejuvinate!) and jogging as often as i can. My hope is to run a Marathon (26 miles people!) this year. Hopefully this summer, i will be able to pick up some art classes and give myself a bit of a creative break. We shall see. Until next time... Happy New Year!
