Things are finally starting to setlle down! YAY!

BJ and I were married May 24, 2008. Since then, we bought our first house (with help from my mom and dad) and moved in mid-August. At the time, i was on bedrest and was unable to help paint or move anything in. Let me tell you, it was hard watching everyone else work. Especially when it was a sweltering august day, and BJ was dripping with sweat, and i was sitting in a chair under the air conditioner vent. Very difficult i tell you.

September 27, Karly decided to join the family. She has been quite the test for BJ and I, but i believe we have passed with flying colors. She has been wonderful to get to know. Watching her grow and develop her personality has been extremely fun. Her smiles have been growing, and the toothless grins melt my heart everytime i see them. I will try to get a smiling picture soon. As for the rest, here are pictures from our wedding, and of Karly, for those who havent seen them yet. OK, i have to go attend to a screaming baby!

Sleep? What's that???

Karly has "woken up." After a few nights of being able to sleep 4-5 hours a night, our darling little girl has changed her sleeping habits. Now instead of giving mommy and daddy a few hours of sleep a night, she will sleep for only 20-30 minutes at a time before waking up and needing to be fed, changed, or snuggled.

She has made several trips to family member's houses, the mall (2x!) and costco (today) and everywhere she has gone she has been this angelic child. And then we get her home and her true little self comes out. Her personality is developing, and we eagerly anticipate the next couple of months. We do pray for more sleep though!

Our New Blog and Our New Baby

Well, after months of reading my sister-in-law's blogs, I have decided to make my own. I actually have things I can write about now-we're moved into our new house, and Karly has arrived. Here are the details of our new house...

We put in our offer in March of 2008, and didnt close on it until August. While i was on modified bedrest, my wonderful husband and our families painted and prepared our house for our move in. I was so worried Karly would come early (as well as my doctor) so i was stuck in chairs while everyone else did the work. Thankfully, we got the house finished before September, and when we were finally finished moving in, it was time for us to sit and wait for the little bundle to arrive. Her due date was the 23 of September, but after being put on bedrest after my 31 week, i was sure she was going to be early. Of course, she called the shots and didnt come until 4 days after my due date.

The day before Delivery:

BJ was wonderful. After several false alarms, friday the 26th came and so did the wonderful contractions. Mother Nature really packs a whallop.. So Friday was actually a funny day. I went into my office on my way out to my Grandma's for lunch. I actually worked for a few hours as well. I was feeling great until about 4pm, on my way home from the office. I rode with my dad, and once i got home, came in an laid down. BJ had just put together the Bassinet, mowed the lawn and cleaned out the garage. After hearing everyone tell me that any cleaning i did must have been me nesting, i laugh, because if anyone was nesting, it was BJ. So after several hours of laying in bed, the contractions got progressively worse and worse until about 8 when we decided that the false alarm was not really a false alarm. We drove to the hospital, and were told that i was not in active labor yet (I was only 2 cm) and that i needed to walk around the hospital for 2 hours to see if anything would progress. After hobbling down the hospital hallway for 45 minutes, i was done. We came back to the room to have them tell us that because i hadnt progressed at all, they were going to send me home. While i was waiting for them to tell me to leave another nurse came in and said that because my blood pressure was high, that they would like to keep me after all. By then my contractions were right on top of one another. At about 12:45am, i was admitted to the hospital. 2pm, they gave me the epidural, which made life for everyone easier. I was able to sleep a little, and at 5am, my water broke. The doctor came in to check me, and i was 10 and 2. I pushed for about 50 minutes, and at 6:02am, Karly Morgan Reese was born.
